Please dont use the brush at the car wash to clean it that will put swirls all through the clear coat, i hate it when people wreck their paint work like that. And for protection like don said just wax it. Our Soarer is Black and i just did a cut, polish and wax on it, i used Meguires Gold Class wax and it was fantastic, it gave it a really deep shine.

Just make sure (well try you hardest) you dont get any bird droppings or sap on it in that first week, if ya do remove it ASAP. Your clear is still very 'soft' for about a week and sap/crap on it at this stage can seriously etch it. After that period get the best wax you can get your hands on and give it a good going over, you wont look back!

While we're on the subject. Does anybody know the best and safest buffer to use on a black car, if one exists? I always wax and buff by hand which takes about 2.5 hours to do it properly. I do enjoy quality time with my Soarer but I feel I'd get a better result with a buffer?

Chris, I had my rear end resprayed in March this year. I was instructed not to use any kind of product with a sealing finish for at least 4 weeks to make sure everything cured correctly. Apparently if you don't wait your nice new paint will bubble underneath. I took their advice and just made sure it stayed nice and clean, as Jeff mentioned. }

g'day sam you will get a better result using a buffer, providing you know how to use one.if you have never used one i wouldnt start on your black soarer ,it is very easy to burn through an edge also very easy for the edge of the buff to grab .good luck
