I was just wondering where can i get Maguire Scratch X as i have read that it is good for removing the yellowish stain on the headlights of soarers. I have tried to go a couple of places, from bunnings, to coles, to kmart but can't seem to find them there.

Someone advice me please.

Cheers

Good to see people are getting the yellow off their headlights, mine get a good clean every week, the best way is the keep on top of it so it never gets to dirty and thick.
Regular car polish will do the trick, I use this and makes mine come up like new, if your headlights have any leaks there might be some yellow inside and may require opening up.

Good luck mate.

i used scratch x, meguires products and mothers etc all the time for years. the best thing ive found for yellowing so far is actually blue magic.
i still use meguirs for paint and everything but that blue magic took so much more yellow out with less applications and stayed clearer longer before another coat. its around 19 dollars if you can find a store that has got it as they are sold out in australia at the moment

Remember you need a product that adds a UV Resistant coating, otherwise it will go yellow very quickly.

Any polishing compound will remove the yellow from the lights, but you need to find a product to coat it with to add UV protection.

I found that you need to apply Scratch-X quite regularly as the headlights will still fog up quite quickly. I got sick of it and snapped up a brand new pair of late model headlights off this site a while back - looking back now I guess I was lucky!

Its the best stuff ever. I was using Scratch X and no matter how many times I did it, it was still not as good as one application of the Blue Magic.

Aaron do you have the pics of my headlights before and after still??

Hi guys, i got the meguire scratch x and the after effect was quite obvious, i am not sure how amazing is the Blue Magic as not many people talk about it and post pictures on it but the scratch x was amazing.

What is the label name from the BlueMagic range that is used for cleaning the lights? Is it one of the metal polishes?

umm i posted some on here before in a post ill try find it when i get to a computer im only on phone at the moment.
The blue magic is specifically designed to take the yellowness out of headlights its not a metal polish. At the moment its sold out they are waiting on another shipment from the u.s

That's interesting, I found the Scratch-X worked much faster to remove the yellowing and left the lights clearer than the blue magic, the blue magic also seemed to 'dry' on the lights and was hard to buff off?? Anyone else experienced this? It does however have the additives supposed to reduce future yellowing which the Scratch-X doesn't. Always possible I was doing something wrong

Yep it did dry on the lights, Aaron just put some more on the cloth and buffed it back off.
