Its pouring here in Melb. My wipers aren't staying on the window. They have gouged a groove into the window too.

I replaced the blades only a week ago, but this hasn't helped.

Can anyone help with the sizes of the arms and the spline so I can try and find something at Super Cheap during my lunch break?

Even better if you know of any aftermarket models I can try and buy.

Thanks,
Mike

I just bought a set of "premium" wiper arms from my local Repco. They're not "aero" in design but do use a curved plastic beam section instead of the complicated pivoting steel sections. They are a universal fit with the small hook fitting on the Soarers needing no adaptors (they come with a small bag full). Was about $69 for the pair. Happy days.

Thanks.

I found SCA and Trident had the refills and the blades with the complicated metal bit as well. $10 (SCA) and $13 (Trident) including the metal bit and hook.

What about the arms? I have a quote from Castle hill at almost $100 each, but I thought there might have been something aftermarket.

My wiper arms have been painted with a brush and the paint looks about 5mm thick and lumpy, like claggy liquid paper. I was thinking the spring might have let go a little over the years and not keep adequate pressure on the windshield. Hence why I am looking for new arms.

Just clean em up and paint em with some matt black - the springs don't really wear out, at least not over the course of 20 years. Should be good for another 20 anyway.

Aerotwin's are so good - super quiet and really shift the water, worth the money. I won't go back to the old style again thats for sure.

Thanks Daniel. I should be able to get them at Autobarn, they're listed on the Bosch web site as distributors.

Matthew, that's my fallback. Because they're in such a bad state I thought I'd try and see what is out there.
