So i finally got round to getting a new paint job last month, also got all the dents filled in so she's nice and straight.

The color is just Jet black with no metallic, was done in 2k as well. It's such a pain to keep clean, i wash it and 6 hours later its dirty again and all it does is sit in the driveway.

The total cost for all work involved was about 5-6k, and then it went straight into the mechanic to get all the noisy tappet's replaced.

Very nice Garion

I like the understated look, very clean lines.

That rear diffuser is quite aggressive though, would not want to get backed over by you!

Is it for looks or is it functional?

Cheers.

Hi Nathan, Yes its fully functional.

I was thinking of getting it trimmed but after driving with it on the highway i think ill just leave it the way it is.

Garion, nice paint, I reckon you should paint the diffuser black, will make it look 10 times better and not stand out as much.

Do you do any track work? Or does the diffuser work nice enough going round streets?

Aaron - Nah mate it was just undercoated over the blue

Christian - i thought about it but there would be too much black then, i like the chrome bits.

James - No not yet but i want to try it, you don't notice anything on the streets cause of the low speeds but on the highway the car is glued down. Very good to drive.

HAHHAHA the diffuser!

That one of the best modifications on a road car I've seen yet here on Soarer Central!

Looks sharp enough to cut the lawn.

Good effort on the diffuser, but its not going to be effective with the sharp saw tooth design.

I would recommend that you chop the end triangle off and make it square with a radiused edge of around 5-10mm.

As it stands, the joining of the air flow wake is poor as there is no sharp edge or transition due to the protruding triangles.

The CD of the soarer improves by around 0.02 if you add the ducktail factory spoiler to the boot. It actually works to bring the CD of the soarer to around 0.29 compared to 0.31 without the ducktail spoiler. With your modified diffuser I would suggest the improvement would be around 0.01-0.02 and with a flat under body and a few mods 0.25 might be possible. The soarer is really an aerodynamic masterpiece.

Interesting setup from a Time Attack Soarer. I think it looks pretty awful but it may be a good example if this guy went to the trouble to make it.

This would be a great setup on the soarer! Remove the spare wheel well and sheet metal it off to hold your mufflers and then add this type of diffuser.

I have already cut the spare tire well out, and put a sheet as the boot floor.

The diffuser is held on via 4 bolts/nuts.

^ that's not a very good picture of it, i can take some more too show the whole thing if you'd like.

That black time-attack soarer is the hottest soarer i've ever seen.

Would give a liver, a kidney, my left nut, and any future unborn children for it.

You make a good point there Costa.

I know a thing or two about aerodynamics and would have to agree that basically sharp edges at speeds below supersonic do not like sharp edges.

Air at subsonic speeds is fluid like water and as a result will not flow efficiently over or around angles, look at aircraft. Above the speed of sound, totally different.

And besides, I worry about your shins Garion when you are loading the groceries in the boot!

Mmm good stuff there Costa, very interesting and I agree with the radiused edge.

Would be interesting to see if someone can get a hold of a compilation of a comparison of the aerodynamics on various cars against the soarer?

Seeing that diffuser and the toy Ferrari makes me want to cover the underside of the car. Hmmm would it increase dynamics by much.

Oh by the way garion if you want to keep the car dust free from sitting in the garage after cleaning it get your hands on a microfiber duster, giver it a once over before you hit the road. Or a car cover but it's a pain in the ass putting on and taking it off.

I Hate to say it but I prefer the blue and the grille sits to low on the front.
Maybe bigger wheels and a bit lower would look better.
