I bought a pair of factory head lights to work on. I already have had the eBay Black housing / clear lens head lights on my car for a while now, which I will be using now for the clear lens from these units to my factory units.

The more I look at the factory head lights the more I like the subtleness, so this is just another retrofit that has been done before on Club Lexus, but now I am giving it a go.

I have already had a crack at sanding down the factory lenses on another occasion, but got over that quickly.

The factory chrome housing I have painted matt Black. Now it's just a matter of getting the clear eBay lens to fit as I have heard they do not fit 100%. I will hopefully get the chance to pull apart the aftermarket lights tonight.

Michael I'm thinking of cracking open a spare set of lights I have and painting the housing in matt black and also removing the amber dome for the indicator bulb. Can you post some pics of yours?

No worries David. Have you considered sanding the ribbing off the lenses too while they are off ?

Here is a photo of mine minus the aftermarket clear lens yet to be fitted. Don't mind the mess of the glue yet to be cleaned off.

Michael looks good in Matt black mate, will look great when you put the clear lenses on. I see that you have taken off the amber dome as well. I know that glue is a bastard to get off hey! I might go ahead and start mine tomorrow!! cheers for the pic. Can you post up another one when you totally complete it with the lenses on.

Cheers David, I was happy with the result as it matches the aftermarket Black housing high beams I have fitted as well perfectly. And the amber dome was the first thing that went ha ha.

I am really hoping I have the time one week night this week to remove the clear lenses off & try to fit them before the nights end, otherwise I'll just pull a sickie if it takes longer than I expect if I come across any fitment problems.

Post up some pics also of yours when you are done mate !

Jose, at the moment I will still be using the factory projectors, until I jump on eBay & have a search around for some HID-specific projectors that are a good replacement.

Here it is. One completed so far. I fitted the head light back on the car & set up my HID's while I was at it, & sh*t what a difference, the angel eyes attached to the aftermarket head lights that sit around the projector block all light output ( well at least on mine ), so no wonder why I haven't been able to see at night for months. After comparing light output against a wall.

Visually compared to the design of the aftermarket housing ( 3 holes for parkers, 1 hole for your main parker & another for the indicator ) I do like the design of the factory housing over the aftermarket due to it's simplicity, which is why I started this project in the first place.

looking good i still prefer if they had the original chrome housings but also depends on the colour of the car they are going on.

but i definitely recommend these over the aftermarket ones!!!

I think they would suit a white car. I know they would look good on my car with the Black Rims and the Dark Tint!!!

Thanks guy's, it was a pain putting them back together & I could of done some cutting & trimming for the lens to fit 99% perfect, but I ran out of time ( doesn't help being my daily ! ). I'm sure they will leak a little, but in the end good results. I'll get some photo's of them installed as they are now tonight or the weekend.
