After almost a year of ownership it's only occurred to me now that Soarer's came out with the rear window antenna (correct me if I am wrong) it's something I've never looked into. And after seeing Evan & Brian from here on the weekend & some reading, I begun to wonder.

My question is, why the hell do I have the drivers side rear guard antenna then ?? Like the US Lexus but on the other side. Definitely one way to kill the lines of the car I have always thought.

When I bought my Soarer it was badged as a Lexus, not sure if it was from the previous owner or the owner before him, but I couldn't imagine someone going out of their way to fit this antenna ?

Let me know if I am missing something here.

Cheers.

Doubt yours would have had an external antenna from the factory.
My guess is previous owner was having trouble with the radio and installed after market standard antenna.

True Daniel, guess I am just unlucky with that !
I just removed it then, removed some of the Black rubber seals & now I am left with just a chrome metal piece, doesn't look too bad now as it almost sits flush with the body unlike it did before.

Seems like a lot of effort to listen to the radio. When you removed the antenna, did the hole look like it wasn't factory?

So does your radio still work now?
Was the external one even connected?
Yes you are unlucky. Bemuses me why some people do strange and unsavory things to their cars. I was lucky to have a fastidious owner of mine before my turn.

Hey Evan, yeah this guy must of been real keen to go & cut this hole out !
It's hard to tell, but I would say it doesn't look too factory-like, there's obviously a tiny amount of paint taken off & a bit of a stress fracture line, so yeah, who know's what went on !

And damn, check out the eye candy, I think my eye's are bleeding.

Hope you don't mind man but can I send you a PM about setting up the boost controller ?

Daniel, the head unit that came with the car had working radio, even though the previous owner told me he disconnected the antenna. But I've since then had another 2 double din head units from Japan so it's been a while since I've listened to the radio.

Yes, this was definitely unsavory !

Yep no worries Mike. Like I said its pretty piss easy to install. Only real thing that can go wrong is installing the solenoids the wrong way lol
