I think they could have been 10mm/15mm higher also . Being the first time i had a go at doing anything like this it was the best i could come up with , I looked at the fiber glass guards and I set these up almost in the same place . I had to leave room to role the edge of the guards as the vents are a flush fit so setting them up at the line in the guard would have made it harder to do.

Do the under guard plastics still line up?
I took mine off when relocating my battery and installing a front-mount. Looks as though some small screw holes and plastic tabs are all that keep these in. It'd be a case of whether these guards are stock dimensions or wider. This is something I am interested in knowing too - what are the dimensions of these guards compared to stock?

wheel archers are only plastic anyway which could be cut down or added to very easily would not be much work involved
and i would assume the only dimension change on them would be the 25mm wider wheel arch as you can see in the above picture it bolted to the stock holes on Trevor's car

why would you wont the plastic inner gaurd if you was going to use these. For a start you couldnt use the standard inner gaurd as these are widder than standard. And plus what would be the point for a brake air duct in the gaurd if you were going to block the air flow off with your plastic inner gaurd.
Just take the inner gaurd out and pop them away some where safe incase you want to go back to standard. Its only a matter of undoing a few 10mm bolts and a few phillip head screws holding it to the gaurd.

Brake duct? I want these purely for aesthetic appeal. If you think this little "duct" (it's actually a vent) is going to make a noticeable difference to your braking you are going to be disappointed I believe.
Mainly I want the plastic under trays to stop water/debris from getting into my engine bay. Plus, isn't there some wiring running above the drivers side wheel?

Duct or vent its flowing hot air from your brakes out thus allowing a clean exit for those times u decide to ride ya brakes hard at speed
if u havnt noticed theres a massive whole under your engine were waters already getting in and the only water/debris thats going past your plastics things is gonna stay up in ya gaurd
these gaurds wernt designed for aesthetics in mind but some how its become the in thing

If you have a massive hole under your engine, then you my friend are missing your number two engine undertray. Toyota put it there as part of the cooling/airflow management system.
The plastics under your guard serve a purpose. They keep rocks, debris and water out of all the nooks and crannies under the guards (have you had a look?) Otherwise water and wet debris would collect there and lead to rust. Trust me, I have one missing on the track car and it is full of pebbles, rubber, and generally nasty crap.

...and there are electrical looms under the guard that would also be at risk of road debris flung off the tires.
also without the inner guard that vent will do NOTHING!
that nothing will be even more pronounced with that front bar pictured as it is creating an even larger negative air pocket in front of the wheel!
I would suggest the vent is cosmetic only (and fine if that is what your after) but if your to suggest this is an aero dynamic or cooling aid Please attach some wool tufts, go for a drive and get some high quality video so airflow can be seen, then compare it to a stock car with all the factory plastics!
sorry if this seems harsh but your un-proven vent and suggestion of ditching the factory plastics is VERY POOR ADVICE.
