Thought id join this forum to let you know whats going on with these clear lens..Was waiting on Mickey to give me his lens of his car while he`s overseas..He never dropped them off..
So i bought a pair from this forum to see what im up against..
To my surprise the lens are moulded to the plastic mounting housing..Which really makes it hard..
The R lens had spider cracks so it useless for taking a mould of it, so i played with it to see if i can remove the lens from the plastic housing..no luck and ended up breaking it..
Will try to mill the L lens of the housing so ive got a usable lens to take a high quality mould of it..But it still means you guys still have to remove your orange lens off by linishing or breaking it off your plastic housings and glueing my clear lens back on..your replies will be interesting..Cheers

i was assuming you would be supplying the entire lense/housing assembly. there is already a tutorial on here for making your own clear lenses to use on the current housing for the cost of only a few $ and an hour or 2 of your time.

I was looking into purchasing these because my housings are damaged, so it would have been nice to buy the pre made housings and lenses to pop straight in.

Best Regards

If your able to produce your own lens clearly im waisting my time then.. It takes me more then 2 hrs to just prepare to make moulds for the lens lets alone the high cost...
Thanks for letting me know.

ive been thinking about vaccuforming these things for ages. used to do a lot of it when i used to build model planes etc. sealed box, heating element. port hole for vaccum hose. all you would need is a wooden or steel die, shaped how you want. (wood is much easier to work with by hand and you can seal the pores with putty) then turn the heat on let the whole box get to around 90 degrees, then drop the acrylic or whatever over the mould and switch the vacum on. suction needs to be from underneath the job.

Better off getting them from Greenline -
http://www.greenline.jp/catalogue/bccatpartlist2.php?make=Toyota&carcode=JZZ30&intake=FI&category=ot her&subcat=Exterior+Parts

Comes to about $170 AUD excluding shipping.

The 'Vertex' indicators are just rebranded KT Project indicators. I got mine through Vertex and the indicators themselves came in Vertex packaging although they have KT Project stamped on them.

Hi kev, i stuck with my intention of providing you my indicators, unfortunately i was too busy packing for my holiday the last 2 nights and so i gave them to sam and asked him to drop them off to you asap. now 45days later i come back from my holiday to hear that sam did not drop them off to you. i do apologize for this. now my car doesn't have any indicators on it either as sam still has them :/

as for the post of making our own for $5 its not something someone would want to do. they are cheap and nasty looking and aren't a lenses. its merely cutting our own shape from florescent light diffractors and gluing them on the indicator housing.

i shall be coming to visit you and the family soon!
