Hey guys, my Gf's dad is really handy with fabricating and cloning parts, he is going to be taking a mold of the orange side indicators of my soarer and will be using transparent compound to make me a new set.
i asked him that i will post here for those who are interested. regardless he will do my set but if we know more are interested than he will cater for more.
he has done this for the older cars as hi's hoby is to rebuild / refurbish olsdchool 1950's chevs etc.
so anyways we all know of those orange side indicators. now imagine the exact ones but with clear! that's how they look like. even with the "Toyota writing on it!"
he said that he is happy to sell the pair for $90 or so. to me that fkn cheap for a copy of the original design but in clear!
so anyways if you are in any ways interested please just say so as i need number to let him know. he will most probably start on mine in the coming few weeks and as soon as we have a final product i will install them and upload pics then take orders!

Some other guys may confirm/refute but I think the aftermarket ones are nicer. Maybe use that as a template or else Im imagining it being nicer.
Stockers are a sturdier plastic though. |

sorry to go off topic but if he's "this good" then why doesn't he make crystal headlight lens covers like what supermade/brightX USED to make?
these were VERY sought after in japan AND the USA - they're delined clear headlight covers using polycarbonate, supermade and brightX (japan) used to make them but ceased production earlier this year.
the demand in aust and especially USA is HUGE for these... make them instead yeah??  |

haha yeah with a good uv coating to stop yellowing. id possibly be up for a clear set of headlight covers |

maybe move to group buy? and a sample set to see how it looks would be nice too. i am always jealous of people who can fabricate things. especially with plastics you don't see that too often. good work on bringing more factory replacement parts to soarers (as prices rise / parts stop from toyota). thanks! |
