Would it really matter if i put US hi beams in for a RHD? You can't drive around with your hi beams on when there's other traffic coming, so i thought the whole tilt to the right wouldn't be a major problem. But just to clarify, I'm not expert so that is why i thought i'd ask.

The Isuzu Wizard I had on Norfolk Island (much missed!) had a factory body kit with 6 (yes, six) Cibie lights, hi, lo, fog. All with H1 globes and horrible to replace (getting the franger off to be able to reach spring clips with fingers in a tights space). For some reason I had to replace globes often, maybe the shocking roads shaking them up too much, but over the years I've found H1 to have the shortest life of any globe type.

Ugh, the two H1's in the Soarer's driving lights are enough for me! I always take the whole assembly out of the car before attempting to replace, otherwise I end up touching the glass.
And yes Mike, you are right, they do have terrible life spans - in 9 years of Soarer ownership I've probably only replaced a couple of wedge style rear bulbs, a couple of main beam bulbs, but damned if I've lost count of all the turning lamp, then driving lamp bulbs I've replaced.
They are pricey little buggers too, particularly for white coloured ones.
Since changing to Philips bulbs from Navara it does seem to have improved a lot.
