So someone tried to break in to my car last week and they stuffed the locks in the doors. Does anyone know if any other Toyota or lexus cars share the same lock barrels as the soarer? I have a feeling that 100 series landcruisers may be the same as the keys look nearly identical Anyway if anyone has bad any experience with this please shed some light as I am stuck soarerless until I can replace. Them Cheers Jack

If it's just the two door locks just get two from a Soarer and take them to an auto locksmith with your ignition key and they will be able to rekey them for you in half an hour. No idea what they will charge as I do this myself but I guess about $50-$100 depending on where you go. Swapping them over is not really that hard... perhaps 1 hour for the first one and 30 minutes for the second. Do the passenger first as it's a little easier. Follow the guide for replacing the window regulator to get into the door cavity and then the guide for the little plastic clip that gets broken in the exterior door handle mechanism. From there you'll be able to see the last two nuts that need to be undone to remove the entire exterior door handle.
