Hey guys, i recently changed my RHS door due to it being damaged, now I'm stuck with the old lock that does not work with my key. Would anyone know how to remove the door lock from my old door and swap it over? if you know step by step instruction that would be amazing?

G'day Richard,
I haven't done this for over two years, so this is all based on memory.
What you need to do is get the door card off, and get the glass out of the way(you might be able to get to the inside of door handle with the glass in the up position). Otherwise you need to remove the glass. The glass is held in by two wide flange nuts. You can undo these by gently tapping them around with a screwdriver and small hammer etc.
Inside the door you will see the door catch/lock mechanism with wires and rods coming out of it. Above this is the actual door handle and key barrel. You will need to unclip the rods from the key barrel (gently if you want to reuse the clips).
The actual key barrel is held in by a screw. I have no idea if you can get at this without removing the door handle completely. If you can this would be the easiest way for you to swap key barrels. If not you will need to remove the door handle complete.
The door handle is held in by two nuts (either 8 or 10 mm from memory). Undo these and There is also a metal bracket held by two screws that will need loosening. The door handle will come out with some jiggling.

thanks Ben I tried doing it myself but i failed, i just managed to get the lock off the old door and that was it, it was straight luck that i managed to do it
When my wife uses the passenger side she always forgets to unlock the door ( after it has auto-locked ) prior to attempting to open it.
I have just solved this problem with the fitment of Darryl Demarte's modified door lock. Beautifully incorporated into the original lock mechanism you would be hard pressed to not think it was an OEM item.
