How hard is it to retro fit the rear wiper? Have installed a 97 boot lid and spoiler on a 94 car that did not have a spoiler. Am I better off just disconnecting the parcel shelf brake light and doing without the rear wiper? My other 94 soarer has a rear wiper.
Cheers.

You'd need to replace the rear window, or risk drilling two holes in the glass :-)

Probably not worth the hassle unless you have a complete parts car and can do the rear window swap yourself.

If you don't mind the expenses, it's a walk in the park.

I converted to a rear wiper window last year on my UZZ31, as I was also fond of having one again after owning a JZZ30 with it. I scored most parts cheaply thanks to a couple of forum members. I can't remember exactly what I paid but this list might assist you along the way if you decide to:

Rear window + wiper & motor (under $100)
Combination switches (under $50)
Wiper control box (under $40)
Parcel shelf + finishing trim piece (under $50)

Then it was something in the vicinity of $180 for the glass removal & installation + tinting.

It was all plug & play on my '92. I still haven't ran the rubber hose line for the rear washer on mine but will one day so that it's 100% complete.

Cheers,
Mike
