| Well after a bit of a wait, finaly got my Work rims on . Fr 18x 9 +47 245/40/ZR18's Rs 18x10 +51 275/35/ZR18's rubber is Bridgestone Grid. Excellent grip, gave em a bit of a test drive around Adelaide Hills. Slighty more Noise than my Khumos, but a good ride.might have to raise the rear a tad though.

Does the height of the rear effect the drivability at all? if not, I wouldn't raise it cause it looks awesome!

Thanks guy's, no rubbing as far as i could see,if you look at my old 17" wheels in my profile, the rear was lower then. Taking it out again sunday for another shakedown, will have another look then.

Neat set of wheels. Did you get them brand new or second hand?? If they're second hand looks like they were kept in great condition.

Gary, where did you get your clear side repeaters from? I've been looking around and the Soarer ones are mega bucks and I can't justify the cash.....

<<What he said. Looks awesome mate!!! Along with the rest of the car. Have to ask...What'd the rubber cost, if you don't mind me asking. I've been pricing tyres this week....Holy F..K!!! It's not so much the cost. Just that you only get around 25,000k's for about $1500. And that's for very average tyres from what I can tell.

I just can't understand how you get 25-30k's out of your tyres. I use P-zero's and I get 12-15k. Even less on S03's.

I was averaging 30,000km out of my 18" rubber (4-5 sets over the past ~7 years). 90% of my driving is city based... just don't corner too hard and keep control of the right foot. Mind you, the odd bit of fun was had at least once a week. P-Zeros are *very* soft compared to most other tyres. I tried some P700Z back when they were available, and 5000km later I needed new ones. Driving style didn't change that much when on the P700Z tyres, but boy did they stick to the road.

From memory the Nankangs have a tread wear rating of about 320 where the S-03 and PZero are both 220. If you want longer wear with better grip try the Goodyear F1 GS-D3, according to Tirerack. It rates 280 tread wear and is higher performing according to readers, especially in the wet. I also find the Michelin Pilot Sport to wear well although its official wear rating seems no better (I thought it was 280). It grips better than the rest though. Grip is probably the source of the problem anyway . When my car has better tyres I, er, drive faster... I think driving and road types encountered have most to do with the problem, although the factory alignment will tend to wear the rears a bit.

Yeh, I bought them for grip and wear does not really come into it. I also like to know where the car is at any time in terms of grip. I find the Michelins give up "all in one go" and the other ones sort of "bit by bit" (ie. you can feel when they're about to let go). hmmmm.... maybe I'm driving too close to the edge. I may just try the Goodyear's next time. Cheers David - and sorry 'bout the hijack.

Sam.......Try giving Quickfit a ring. From memory Quickfit in Queanbeyan down the road from Neil's had some Nankangs in stock. Not 100% sure but certainly worth a call.
