OK this might sound a bit stupid but i was wondering if anyone has noticed a difference in wind/road noise with all the windows up after installing the wind deflectors?
Just curious because I removed mine for aesthetic reasons but now notice a bit more wind noise. I dont know if it is because i took off the defectors or im just going crazy>?

Good call, wind deflectors are ugly.

Are your door seals in good condition?

I removed mine to reduce noise. If that is not what happened, I seem to be happy with the result anyway. Never did like such things.

I took mine off for the same reason and got a nice surprise when I sprayed the windscreen with the windows open lol

I thought the same thing the other day though, it does sound nosier and is also a bit more uncomfortable when you drive with the window open. I don’t think they look too bad on the car, most people didn’t even notice I had them (black car and tint windows), however I think it does look better when you can see the full chrome edge around the V8 windows.

I should have added that I never drive with the windows open except for the time taken to pay tolls, collect parking machine tickets etc, so for me wind noise is always lower without deflectors. The sunroof gets a workout on hot days and it looks from some marks that my car originally had that deflector as well but it was off the car when imported. The Soarer with sunroof wide open is fine up to about 90km/h for me, which is about 20km/h faster than the is300 will allow in similar comfort.

I dont think they look too bad on TT's either however i've done the chrome window conversion on mine (from a v8) hence the reason why i decided to take them off..

my seals arnt the greatest so i think a combination of old seals and no deflector has lead to a bit more noise...

and i do agree that its certainly noticable with the windows down.. but that is expected, i just didnt expect much differnce with the windows up!

I always have the windows open due to my addiction to V8 rumble, so I fitted the deflectors to keep water out. For the looks, I would have left them off.

I prefer the deflectors, one reason being the slight extra protection they offer (being tinted). The '97 has the chrome edging, which I dislike so didn't mind covering it, partially. I prefer the plain black of the pov pack. Chrome trim looks cheap to me (I had it on Commodores and it went rusty with age, looked awful).

Well, that's a Commodore for ya Mike.
Our's has never had them since NEW, and as a SMOKER!, I don't miss em.
I did make an enquiry via Jeff harper, re, a new set, but decided I can live QUITE happily without them.

Thats what Autosol is for (not cleaning headlights as some people would have you think - though that works too...)
