Since I bought the car I have had to park it on a sloping driveway. Every time I opened the boot a stream of water came out of the catch, much of it going into the boot. I suspected that it was something to do with the spoiler (stock '91). Removing the spoiler involves popping out about a dozen plastic clips to remove the bootlid lining, then undoing 5 (?) 10mm size nuts. At this stage the spoiler will be loose, but won't come off. There is a plastic clip at each side, near where the spoiler bends forward. You can (carefully!) lever these out with a screwdriver. With the spoiler out, you will see that there is a rubber lip between it and the bodywork, and rubber washers around all bolts and the 2 clips. These were all cracked and hard in my car. I believe these parts may be available from Toyota, but I used Sikkaflex to provide an improved seal at these areas. On reassembly the job proved effective as the car took a heavy shower last night with no water leaking into the boot at all.
