Adam; the fiberglass bonnets from Blits automotive mate down here at the gold coast are the only company that is ADR approved to make the bonnets/ front guards for all cars. i am not sure if thay have done the soarer yet i will have to contact them and see. Thay are adr approved for Queensland only right now but are trying to get Australia wide. That was when i was talking to them about 4 months ago

woo interested to hear if any become approved for use in NSW.
whats a REAL CF bonnet weigh in comparison to the stock one? not after a fiberglass one with CF top and bottom, but something to take a little weight off the front half of the car.

I've weighed them on bathroom scales. Stock = 27kg and 100% CF = 9kg.
For me, the CF bonnet and moving a smaller sealed battery to the boot have made a noticeable improvement to initial turn-in as that's 38kg removed from the front of the car if you have one of those big truck batteries.

The ADR (Aust Design Rules) for motor vehicles has no regulation against such components, either factory supplied or after market. If the after market ones were illegal, then all kit cars and hot rods (who use fibreglass panels) would be illegal. They are not illegal!!

Lew, good work mate keep us posted with interstate compliencing too if you could.
The reason why the police hate them and say they're illegal is because they dont know any better. Ive even seen OEM items on cars be given a defect notice ~ yes ive had quite a few

Yeah, there are a lot of cars these days that have carbon/fibreglass skins. Corvettes have always had fibreglass skins. Lotus usually use fibreglass because it's so light. And Lambo's of late are using full carbon fibre skins. I've considered buying the ADR's recently to try and figure out the legalities of it.
