That sucks so bad. I've been so paranoid about the same thing happening to me. One of my badges is damaged (the lion thingy with wings) and I am looking to replace it. only found one on ebay that won't ship to Oz. Let me know how you go.

Ahem, but is not a gryffon equipped with an eagles head?!? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, can see this getting outta hand...
Had my car badged, when it was in my backyard, TWICE. ie the little fcukers jumped the fence and knick the badges
Simple solution, go and buy yourself a tshirt from the 'punisher' movie/comic. Park your car in a real dingy part of town and wait for some little punk to start $hit. Then pop out from behind a bush with a painball gun and some frozen ammunition ahahaha.

Carl, you can purchase the genuine "L" and "LEXUS" from your local Toyota & Lexus spare parts dealer. I asked for the 96+ ES300 one's since they're very similar in size to our ones. The "L"s are about $50 each from memory, and the "LEXUS" is about $35. My memory could be wrong though. Hope this helps mate. Also, I would personally NEVER use the Ebay imitations. Their quality compared to the genuine thing is as obvious as dog's balls.
Are manifestations of the same animal, with mixed proportions of eagle and lion. Mind you, no one has seen one recently so their natural history and mating habits are a mystery, but we can live in hope

Cheers for the help Vihn, there just happens to be some gold badges for sale in the trading section so if that doesn't work out I'll ring the nearest Toyota/Lexus spare parts dealer.

Im deleting the badges from the rear of mine on Monday. Very simple to do if you have a factory spoiler like mine. Once the holes are Mig'd up and ground back, it takes a very very tiny amount of bog just to fill in any little imperfections, then feathered back and primed and painted. Will post pics monday arvo.

I read somewhere that the winged lion symbol is based on the greek myth of the Chimaera. With the body and head of a Lion, Wings of a Condor and a Snake for its Tail it is said to fend off Evil and derive bad luck.
Interesting eh ? :p

Have a look at the date on the pic. That was quite a while before the airbags were done. also the rear wheels are the old 8" ones not the 9.5's on it now, you can tell from the offset that they're not Toyota wheels. I must have been pissed when I took that, hence the angle of the photo. It's not he car leaning, it was me! But you're right it does need a wash now.

I removed the griffon from the front today. What a mess underneath. After carefully removing the gum and stuff left behind I decided that if I wanted to hide the tattoo left behind that I'd have to have it resprayed. What I ended up doing is cutting a black backing plate out of plastic which is exactly the same size of the "L" badge I wanted to put on. Then fixed the badge to it and it to the car. I used "Cling" double sided cloth tape and it's as secure as... There's a slight difference in colour between the black on the car and the badge but a nice end result. I'll probably get a backing plate made up professionally with a nice tapered edge in black 202 paint as I'm completely anal. I'll post a pic up tomorrow for all to judge. This would be a great option for those wanting to put the "L" on the rear and cover up any holes. And a lot cheaper than a respray.
