Hi,

My question was what are the complications with converting a 94 V8 to 95-97 style tail lights?

I did a search and discovered there are problems like:

"error for the tail light keep coming up in the dash & the indicator will flash like crazy..."

They said this could be solved by fitting some resisters

Is this all, do they cost much and anyone want to do a swap?

Thanks for your help

Adam, I don't think there's too much of a problem changing from '94 to '96 lights, it's only the early ones which cause problems.

Having said this I was shocked to note that our '97 has US-spec lights with big wedge globes. The fittings (holes) are marked for two different kinds of globes, ours are 7443.

The '94s should be worth over $100 each. If I had an early one I'd be changing to them as they are the nicest of the lot, and fairly rare on EBay etc. They don't seem to fetch as much as the "less nice" '96 and on.

The rear light fail module is the main problem. not sure if that affects changing from '94 to '97 but it does the earlier ones. The module can be modified to work if it is a problem.

Mark,

I'm thinking of upgrading from 91 to 97 taillights and do i just need to modify the rear light fail module and thats all??

And cut a couple of bulb holders off the loom, or fit the later tail light loom.
