http://www.team-integra.net/sections/articles/showarticle.asp?ArticleID=563 that's the address!! To each their own I say, probably couldn't be bothered for my car but is definitely something to individualise your soarer from the rest.

diameter is 8.4cm edge to edge of the light, so when you make it that means the inside diameter of the rod has to be 8.4? or from the outside edge to outside edge..ie, the 8.4 plus the thickness of the rod x2?......im just making sure

Depends on the body kit. Its the difference between bling and something that actually improves the look of the car. All in the eye of the beholder I know, which is why I put IMO after my post. But I'd agree that its impressive DIY work! |

oven about 200 degrees, about 2 min buy memory, if you see it start to bend and twist you put it in for too long. the first two i made were buy the third i perfected it, takes practice. dremel you can buy from bunning, i bought this smal dremel kit for like 20 bux, has all the gadgets. good this is it has buffing pads, after you make the ring you can buff it to make it crystal clear and take out all the fine scratches.

thats suppose to say crap in the previous message where the dots are. say if your rod diameter is a 10mm, and you get a can which is 84mm in diameter and rap the rod around that, your overall diameter will be 84mm plus thickness of rod on both sides, so already the ring will be too large and will not fit in the headlight. i used can diameter of 74mm so overall diameter will be 74mm + 10mm + 10mm = 94mm. that fit fine. i suggest 5mm less would be perfect. cool???

| the inside diameter of the ring has to be approximately 7 - 7.4 mm. edge to edge diameter of the ring (so it includes thickness of rod now)will be 7.4mm(in my case) plus thickness of rod x2

so who said 8.4 on the inside of the ring??? and f*ck, i have to find myself a new jar now that its a change of measurement, i had the perfect one!!!!!! (natures way vitamin c)

the diameter of the circle in the light is 8.4 cm, you dont want the angel eye to be 8.4cm egde to edge because it will be hard to glue the ring on to the light.

hahahah, glad your having fun hesham. Another tip: when you rap the rod around the tin can, you find the two ends overlap one on top of the other. it then tells you to cut the ends of and re heat in oven two bring the two ends together to make the perfect ring. i used a heat gun, found it a lot easier. just put the ring on the table, heat one side and bring it together. i found using the oven, made the ring get little melting marks and stuff. anyways good luck, nearly there, let us see picks of the outcome.

when it comes to all this electrical things, im not very competent but...u cant just connect an LED to a battery and expect it to work can you? or have i just got a dud LED? because im testing out this "high intensity 8000mcd super blue led" and it doesnt work just connecting pos to pos and neg to neg on a battery, am i doing something wrong? or am i really in need of a resistor?

Yes, you need a resistor but, first, buy a new LED because the one you have should be dead now. LEDs operate with a voltage drop of a couple of volts (give or take a bit) and low current. It is a semiconductor junction device, not a simple resistive load, and needs limitation of the current which will be applied.

alright...i tried the led on a normal AAA battery first which didnt light up..then i tried it on a car battery and it just flashed, and i assumed it just blew, but ill go somewhere were theyll give me proper help because dick smith the people didnt know anything, apart from one asian guy working there who stood there with a piece of paper and wrote out this whole equation to find what risistor i needed but still had no clue on working it out.

yee i graduated just end of last year. nah i cant with some practise probably could. but doesnt take an engineer to do that stuff, david is right, you need a resistor to limit the current. when you attatch the led straight on the battery its just drawing massive amounts of current and will blow. here is what you need to know. 1. decide on how you will connect the leds, parallel or series. paralell i recognmend because if you attatch in series there is a slight voltage drop in the first led, so one will be dull than the other, however in series its less hassle and neater. look in the tutorial section, under the converting your dash colour, there is a diagram there on how to connect/solder the leds (need two, pointing in opposite direction) parallel is how I connect it, each positve leg had a resistor which then connected to each other and went to positve terminal, negative legs were soldered together. 2. test your voltage at the source (the wire where you will be connecting it) with multimeter WHILE car turned ON. this is your Voltage Source. 3. Decide what voltage you want your LED to be, usually 3.3 - 4 V. ill pick 2.5 to be safe, but up to you. this is your VOLTAGE LED. 4.decide on the current you want going through resistor. typical 20 - 30MA, ill go 15 to be safe, up to you. this will be your CURRENT LED 5. now work out resistor value, your using basic V=IR principle R= V/I = (VOLTAGE SOURCE - VOLTAGE LED)/LED CURRENT (mA) this will drop the car battery source (approx 13V) to your value of 2.5 or whatever you picked. hope you understand. let me know

It may have been mentioned, but why cant you use the parker's? That way, you already have a switch and a current. Its not like the parkers are used for anything other than to highlight your car a little, and angel eyes would be a perfect replacement for parkers. Or is the voltage to the parkers too high? >.>
