Would anyone be interested in this ? I think it can be done with a bit of effort and a fair bit of cost by putting 12 to 18 Luxeon Star LEDs into the highbeam assembly to replace the 9005 bulb. The Luxeon Rings cost about US$250-300 (6-LED small ring + 12-LED big ring, concentric array) per headlight! but... is this idea worth exploring?

I'm actually talking with a local company here about their LED headlights as used in the Holden Efigy prototype car (for those who haven't seen it, it is a stunning extrapolation of the old FJ complete with computerised everything, all LED lighting and a 7litre blown Chev).
The LED price may not be as steep as first thought; but it won't be cheap.

I've now bookmarked this site too and will have a chat to them. Their quoted prices don't seem too bad at all; cheaper than HIDs and a few advantages over them too.

Mark, that sounds great! A little bling out the headlights isn't a bad thing!

Btw, I'm wondering if you got my email about the tail light mod? But actually I am inclined to send you the part for modification rather than try my hand at it.... cheers

Hmm, I think I'd rather get a D2S HID retrofit done, looks like it'd cost the same as the LEDs.

LED tail lights however... yum.
