Hey guys...im just wondering, do all the spoilers that come off an sc400 have reverse cameras?

Also, provided that i have an EMV installed, can i use a reverse camera?

I believe that all soarers with EMV have the wiring for the reverse camera, although many don't have them fitted as standard. Mine doesn't have a spoiler fitted, but still has the wiring available to fit a reversing camera.

If you have a spoiler, then check the underside to see if a camera is fitted there, if you don't get the reversing screen on the EMV when in reverse then you may just have a problem with the camera that can be fixed.

If you don't have a spoiler, then you can check the rear passenger side quarter panel (behind the TEMS switch) and look for the reverse camera wiring.

Soarers with EMV up to August 1996 will have the wiring for the camera to plug in. After August 1996 the wiring is different and they dropped the camera wiring as it could not be fitted to the new style wing.

Hi Ali,

You can get the aftermarket camera and install in the Soarer since you got the EMV and the wiring will be there.

Also you will need a controller box, I think Mark Paddick can make one up for you.

I bought the reverse camera kit off Steve Taun two years ago for $600 and he installed the reverse camera for me.

The kit is very good and the camera installed in the spoiler just like the factory one.

After 8/'96 there is no factory reverse camera option at all and no wiring.
Prior to that all EMV equipped Soarers had the wiring if not the camera.
