If any one is interested in these bonnets, i have a guy who is willing to get some moulds made up, but he needs 5-6 people for each bonnet before he will make the moulds. Here are some pics of what you can have.

Daniel- its going to take about 6-8 weeks to be made and come from japan.
Ryan- i think they are illegal but dont quote me on that, but lot of things on cars are illegal eg.bov, racing pedals, aftermarket gear knobs which dont show 1,2,3,4,5, they all can get your car defected. also fiberglass doesnt look like carbon fiber.
Brenton- im pretty sure its actual a vent covered by mesh, not a look-a-like,but i dont know about the permit.
Neil- as far as i know its full carbon fiber ot fibreglass , its your choice

$850 wouldn't cover the materials for all CF - must be CF over fibreglass.
I was wondering about legalities of CF bonnets, vents in bonnets etc lately and I saw a Series 6 RX7 SP (the limited edition Bathurst one) and it has big vents in the bonnet and passed ADR's... who know's what the real story is.

I'm not 100% sure but I was told that For WA, if your car is pre '95 and you have a CF bonnet on it, its legal... anyone else know anything about this?

Hmmmm if the vents are all open with the mesh, looks like if the cars stuck out in the rain the engine bay will just get washed away? and get much more dirt in there?
As mentioned Joshua via email, Im out. One of my other suppliers just offered me this bonnet xstock and possible delivery by xmas if I place the order now. If it doesn’t work out I'll be back.

Chelsie you are right. I checked this up when I did up my Honda Prelude. However I think it was pre-92. Prior to those years you could do a carbon-fibre or even a fibreglass bonnet on your car. Post those years, the bonnet is considered to be an integral part of the overall structure of the vehicle when in a crash.

I know I've posted up this link in other areas before, but it seems appropriate again. If you want to know what is and isn't legal in WA, here's all you need to know: http://www.dotars.gov.au/transport/safety/road/bulletin/vsb_ncop.aspx I know that those are in effect in WA now. Not too sure for other states, you'd have to email your state representative that's listed on the site to be sure.

If people are interested I have seen some of these in Japan I should be able to sort them out on a single bases and ship in my container. Then they would just need to be set from QLD to other states or get picked up.
If there are people are interested let me know and I can look into these some more for those that are.
