One large jug of (tank) water = wet cat and cleaner bonnet. Works better if its a supprise flood.

a squirty bottle with water in it
every time you see the cat on there squirt it and it will soon get the idea

Fill the water gun with tabasco sauce and aim for it's rear end, it will learn real quick.

Hmm, what do you expect if you lock the cat in the garage with the car!? How about leaving it outside for the night? Provided it's not too old, and it doesnt get really cold in your area, it's probably able to look after itself. Cats are semi-nocternal after all. My cat only stays inside at night because she is 16 years old and starting to get a bit frail.

So much hate for cats here!

When we do that with our cat, it brings home all manner of little "surprises" for us, like little Copper Headed snakes, rats, birds, pet fish, you name, it brings it - still ALIVE, and leaves it under the kitchen table for us in the morning. Oh and then decides to wake you up at 3am by climbing up the flyscreen!! THAT'S why it gets locked in the lounge room EVERY NIGHT!!

Gee Don where do you get these pictures from, some of them keeps me chuckling for awhile, especially the monkey being scratched by his mate. Keep it up.

ive been told thats one of the worst things to do as it digs its claws in more to keep from slipping off.

one suggestion was to put a blanket or mat ontop so the inevitable will still happen, but no paint damage

And when the cat decides to sleep on the engine, just slam shut the bonnet and take it for a drive.

Go somewhere slightly remote and open the bonnet there. I bet you the cat won't come back.

Hmm, I think by the time you got somewhere remote you would have to scrape what was left of the cat off the engine.

Some wonderful suggestions here including some great humour, but I really hope none of you that have cats leave them out of a night. I think that would be one of the worst things to perpetrate on our local fauna. Please give that some serious thought.
I have 2 cats and love them both, but there is no way they are out of my sight, even in daylight hours when outdoors.

My cats too old to worry the local bird life or even the occasional hedgehog we get. She just likes to sleep, eat and get brushed these days.

My mother has 2 cats, and they come and go at all hours. And yeah, sometimes they bring home 'presents' - birds, lizards, grasshoppers, frogs. It's awesome. Cats are just such wonderful predators.

put one on your roof and one on your bonnet.
and dont forget to take them off before you drive your car.

Sorry but this thread reminds me of this guy who I think is a Uni Professor or something like that. He lives in the Adelaide hills and he catches and skins cats
to make Russian type fur hats out of them ha ha ha. He's probably a Port Power fan.

I agree with Lew's idea. My cat used to claw the couch until we kept squirting it with water and now she doesn't do it anymore.
