Jon, doing a search on the ICE part of the forum people have filled this gap with a number of things. The most common is a Mazda din pocket that can fit in there.

I have the same issue on my stereo, but I will be filling it one day, depending on whether I get the device I am after.

I'm putting in a 1.5din carbonfibre panel with cutouts for 2 52mm gauges. One of these days I'll get off my arse and polish it so I can install it!

In my car there is a stacker in that position.

Its actually a 5 disc holder that looks like a stacker. it works, so Im going to leave it.

With the extra .5 DIN gap. I am going to install my 'speed cut defender' and then have the wires going through the hold. Should look alright.

I'll post pics when its all done
