well i bought electric seats about a year ago, in grey. however my car is black. i started to reupholster the grey bits in black vinyl down the bottom and stopped half way, just no time and then later upholster the grey velour in black leather when i can afford it (professionally of course).

well considering that dilema, does anyone no how to remove the plastic piece that goes around the seat, i get all the screws off but when it comes to the the handle on the side to bring your seat forward quickly, i cant get it off. it stops the entire piece. i can see one of those U clips, through a little gap, but if i take that off, there is no way i can put it back on.

also anyone know how to take off the material on the seat. want to replace my black velour with the grey. i can take the back off by taking the plastic bit behind the seat, but taking off the material on the bit you sit on seems to be difficult.

have i lost everyone?

The knobs for the electric controls just pull right off. As for the actual fabric, why is it that when anyone tries something for the first time, it usually on their soarer? For jobs like that you start out on a $500 rust bucket, get VERY good at it, then progress onto the soarer. IE if you don't know what you're doing, leave it to the pro's, or it WILL cost you more in the long run.

these seats are spare, dun really care what happens to them. only payed 100 bux for the pair. i think i can redo the bottom in black, i already started...i think i did a good job so far. but like to take that handle off so i can take the entire side plastic bit, that way it be easier.

and the velour trim wont be hard to swop, just small clip, but cant access the bottom bit of the seat cuz all the mechanical stuff. maybe someone will know.

i doubt any will but thought i give it a try

Have a look at clublexus.com. A lot of those guys have bought replacement leather from leatherseats.com, and I remember seeing quite detailed instructions on how to take the old leather off, and how to replace it with new. that should help...

According to clublexus.com 'There's a C-clip on the shaft of the recliner lever that you need to remove. Once you have that lever off the trim will be free.'

Ben, the Soarer is probably the first car they've had that they care enough to even think about doing stuff like this.

Fair call, I've just seen some really nice cars rooted by people that don't know what they are doing :-(
