I had an SVX with black leather interior. It looked good but on a hot summer day it took about 10 minutes to cool the seats down with the aircon going full blast. Good in winter though.

I was keen on black leather, very keen, until I had to use a 2005 model car with soft black leather. I had it for a week with 3 hot days. Awwwww, what a bitch! hot as fire. I still like leather but I will never buy black.

The red leather looks great! The perforations are a nice touch too.

Thanks Steven and Don. My girlfriend has a black interior in her car. When I jumped into the car yesterday, I literally burnt my legs (was wearing shorts) The sun doesn't like black

Brett if you're near by me I am willing to leave my car out in the sun for 30 mins then let you sit in my leather seats and experience the pain I suffer every summer. What I do now is keep throw overs under the seats....(the mrs got burnt one day and was so unimpressed talk of me having to sell the car arose!)

Black velour isn't too bad actually. My car came with factory black velour seats and they were not too hot at all during hot days. They were a tad hot once you jumped in but they cool down very quickly. It would probably be cheaper to purchase the seats than to get your current seats recovered.

They look pretty plain though, If I bother to do it I'm going to do it properly, I'll prob stick with leather. I appreciate what you guys are saying about the heat thing, I actually drive an old merc with black vinyl interior pretty regularly and it gets left at the boat ramp all day, and yeah it gets hot especially with non tinted windows, but nothing a towel doesn't cure, or a few minutes with air con. honestly don't really drive much during the day anyway, always morning afternoon/night. Ive got the car booked in at my local trimmer, I'll post when all is done. Cheers guys.

Brett, what you do with your money is ultimately your choice at the end of the day. Black leather is actually very nice, but I'm more of a showy kind of guy so I opted for red instead. If it is done correctly, I'm sure it will turn out very nice. Keep us updated mate.

The black velour interior is great, I love mine. The only gripe I've got with it is that it seems to be a bastard to keep clean (lint and dust falling into small crevices and never able to be brought out again lol). One of the things I was thinking of doing to mine was to get the seats trimmed in black leather with suede inserts, wonder how that'd look?

The trimmer suggested that, but I think the all leather will look better, and harder wearing.

Too much "show" I think. Those interior designs are best suited for show cars. Nice though

I might be getting my car done by them. They offer good prices and quality products. They have won a few awards. Now i just need to get a job in the summer. Working for my car. What an exciting thing to do. I am aiming to save 3000 over the summer to get the interior done then the next 3000 will go on the exterior. Kinda doing things to opposite way.

chrome would be a bit reflective. Overall pretty good would have tightened up the leather abit more though. can see the look he was going for but just doesn't look quite right.

My friend's GTR has most of his interior chromed. Cost him about $1500 I think. Mind you, this is proper chroming that will not flake in a few months or even a few years. They've been in his car for a little over 6 months now and they're still in top condition. Looks very nice but unless you have money laying around, I don't think chroming the interior parts are financially viable to most of us.

Yeah, I second that. Plastic chroming (when done properly) is a biatch of a job, and hey in turn charge accordingly. Not to mention the fact that it still isn't as strong a bond as chrome plating metal is.

What do people think of leatherette? It seems like a cheaper alternative to full genuine leather interior but will it be worth the money. I am probably going to go leather or cloth depending what they advise is better. I like the look of leather but it has a strong smell, can be slippery and sticky. But I dont know. I like leather. I am the only person who doesnt mind the couch in the lounge room. My parents and brother hate it.
