umm that vent is quite simple, remove the pannel that the vent sits on and the ignition key is in (just pulls out) and there are 2 screws, unscrew them, remove the vent covering which holds the symbols and then you pull out the grated thing that goes up and down then you pull the actual duct out, i dont remeber if theres a screw under neath it though, you pull it out like this because when pulling it all out in one go will cause a clip to brake cause all the pressure is applied to the clips not the whole thing, reverse process for placing it back together

Orton someone (maybe you) has broken one of the screw mounts on yours.

There is a screw on the back of the vent that is impossible to remove without removing most of the dash. It is possible to just get your finger on the screw head to confirm that it is there but a screwdriver would need to go through some other parts of the dash to be in the right position.

My recommendation is don't bother with it.

Yep the driver side vent is a biatch if you want to take the whole vent out. But happily the plastic surround and the actual adjustable vent thing can come out without you having to remove the whole vent. You DO risk breaking the clips on the plastic surround. However I broke some of the clips but was able to replace the adjustable vent and clip the surround back in. I found this out after following Orton's advice and wondering why the bastard would come out. Almost ripped my fingers off!
