Has anyone bought a BD trim kit for their Soarer like this one?

Im quite interested in this particular model as it has the plastic wood piece above the steering column, I find the stock black piece to be rather dull and hard to keep tidy especially after a good clean.

Only problem with this model is I don’t think it has the part for around the standard CD/Tape player... However there’s the Import scene wood grain model, which Don recommended which has it, but lacks the part over the steering column. :-(

Perhaps if the Column part from the BD Trim kit is available separately that would be the way to go and opt for the Import Scene kit.

Any thoughts? I just want something done to the stock black plastic trimming apart from painting it! :-)

If I go C/F (not if but when) I'm sure we can come to an arrangement for my OEM wood grain bits if you're interested in them.

Oh my! I had been searching for a kit with the steering column!

It looks like the medium burlwood is the way to go, but it's hard to say as they don't have an installed pic.

I just have to say THANK YOU for pointing that site out for me haha.

If someone can get me a full scale accurate template for the part I can see what I can do in getting it added as a standard part of the importscene kit.

I'm not in front of my car obviously so I'm unsure how much curves are on this piece. It is possible that it wasn't included in the first place if there is too much curvature. Other manufacturers may not care if their part comes off in a couple of months but I know my guy has done this for a long time and has adjusted his kits according to successes...

Having said all that he may simply not have considered this piece...

If someone wants to make up a template or has the BD trim kit piece then let me know.
Cheers

Ah Yes, Thanks James I used everything accept Brasso. That and my electric buffer worked superbly on my trim above the steering column! :-)

Only things I need to have done is the A/c and Radio faceplates. Could some one direct me into any guides of how they are removed? I think I can hold off with the wood trim kits for now, mainly since the Brasso worked so well (Again thanks James!)

i didnt take them off i just used a rag and brasso over the aircon and radio. makes the buttons just as shiny! if you use a rag and do it dont worry the white text wont come off!

bit of a dodgy pic but you get the idea with the aircon display. how the buttons are shiny as well.

another view, as you can see the aircon is shiny and aswell around the steering wheel part. (my radio looked like this too but i have since taken it out)

Mmm very nice. I just need to spend a while getting in between the buttons. Still looks much better now, I think Id save the $300 odd for the exhaust and worry about Wood kits later. :-)

James, how much scrubbing is required? I might give that a go.

really not that much. (eg, polishing metal takes longer.)

remember you CAN go over the white and orange and green text on the radio and it doesnt come off! same with the aircon buttons
