Well, When I got the car all the A/C backlights were dead and only one weak light was powering the radio backlight. So today I poped into Jay Car got some Green LEDs and resistors and got to work.

For the A/C display I used 2 Green LEDs in each of the 3 sections making a total of 6 backlight LEDs. Once done they came up exactly how I wanted. I also used the same LEDs for the Radio so now that has nice even backlight as well!

Here are the results:

I find the green much more refreshing compared to most colours, It will look really good once I have the Wood trim kit in. I personally find this kind of green and brown wood colours go together really well, just like in the garden :-)

Well, This was the 2nd time doing it, I did it yesterday with white LEDS but forgot about resistors so they burn out in a couple of hours! They looked cheap any way and I only used 3 not 6 like this time for the a/c display.

Its generally easy you just need to make sure you have the correct resistors to protect the low voltage LEDs, other than that superb fun I found, especially since I occasionally muck around with electronics and so on. :-)

Yes Peter that still works fine,

The tops a tad bright compared to the radio as I think they have a slighty different voltage. Plus theres 6 LEDS vs 2... However its not that bright, I was driving to the store last night and it doesnt annoy me at all :-)

Hmm, I have a hole bunch of red LEDS which arent as bright. I may put those in at some stage to compare. Nicer more fitting colour perhaps - this greens a bit to much. Plus yeah not as bad at night than this green, I dont actually mind doing this job I actually find it quite fun, the only bad part is uncliping the plugs at the back of the units they are dam annoying some of them. I might actually do it tomorrow on the radio first and post some pictures up :-)

To tell you the truth I was actaually a bit disapointed with the green however its nice - I just said I liked it so I would like it, if that makes sense. :-)

Mmmm Looks more appropriate really. At the moment Im just sanding down the lens' on the tops of the LEDs and also sanding around the sides so theres no direct spotted light, all smooth and soft. Im also using 6 leds for the A/C display and two for the Radio.

When I did it yesterday I learnt how to do it exactly so It will be a much finer job this final time around.

My girlfriend reckons my white and blue A/C display is too bright but it doesn't even bother me at night time. I think Mark put 12 LEDs in the A/C display lol
Maybe I should've gone with red LEDs instead of white and blue.. But white and blue looks sooo nice :-(

for mine i used 6 leds in the display, 2 where each globe was. i bent them down on to the wjite plastic backing, that way there would be no dark/light patches. changed the top buttons to Purple/UV and White.
