over the next couple of months i will be developing a set of carbon shells to adhere to the existing wooden or plastic door AND dash panels.here is a very quick overlay i did to get the impression, the finish on the proper parts will be 1000% better! i am also developing a carbon BFI cover.

I want to do virtually everything that is timber + surrounds of EMV & the appron over the centre console.
Happy Days

I would have no problem paying a deposit up front to help cover your R&D costs if you are interested & willing to do every piece I want (basically everything)?

I would also be genuinely interested - the wood trim is one of the few things I dislike about my car.

True Stewart, you can buy a good dash kit but can't get door inserts. This means you are getting bits from different places means probably different weaves & or finishes. I want it to ALL look the same as if it were a factory option. Thats why I want & am willing to pay for the lot from one spot. Anyway give it some thought & if you change your mind PM me as that is the way I want to go in my car & will not settle for bits that are not matched.

Oh, I see, you're all out to get me aren't you?!?

I said I was planning a carbon bfi cover YEARS ago and no-one wanted to hear of it.

Oh well, just wait till I get those carbon undertrays and fan shrouds cranking out :-)

As for all of you with woodgrain, Id strongly suggest you sell it and buy some pov pack plastic, or swap with a cash adjustment as there are lots of people after the OEM woodgrain.

i can make these in plain weave to match the existing dash kit available no problem.they will will be adhesive shells to cover the existing panel,to make full replacement parts with the fittings etc is way too difficult and for no real advantage.

I emailed Greg last night asking for PDF, JPEG or whatever in larger clearer size/format. Good to know you can match those kits....still it leaves me with no centre console apron/surround tho.

I see, adhesive shells. They are curved on the top & bottom edges right? Can you take a few of pic's of the door inserts above? i.e close up from the side.....that kind of thing?

i havent made one yet,as i said, the one in the pic is simply a normal panel overlayed with carbon.yes they will curve completely to the edges,im in the process as we speak of making a mold of a single piece so i can produce a proper shell and test it for fitment etc, when the part is made i will put plenty of pictures up,im hoping to have the first proper test piece done within 10 days.the only area i see could be a slight problem is on th edash panel in the corner above the main centre vent as it seems a very tight ft there and am not sure if it will allow a 1mm piece on each edge.
i emailed jeff a few weeks back and he just sent me a stock picture of a silver kit,so hopefully he can open a kit and take a decent picture.

I'll look forward to seeing it!

You haven't mentioned but I assume you are also doing the piece on the dash side (door trim) of the door handle? Piece I mean is circled below.

I reckon the front piece (Dash) is gonna be the biggest headache. Here in AUS due I guess to heat we get cracks in the centre A/C vent (right side) It is a VERY tight fit there as you mentioned yourself. I am wondering if a shell over existing will be to hard. Guess we'll see!

Believe me, I have though about that many times too! Unfortunately though, they have lots of mouldings on the inside to support the handle and other bits and pieces. It is possible, but would require customising of a lot of other parts to be viable :-(
