hey guys got an alarm installed last week and left it there at 6am in the morning and hopped on the train. it was meant to be looked at by 1.30pm and when i arrived at the shop at 4.30 it wasnt finished. I only had the basic alarm done for the moment so my aux key doesnt work.
I rocked up and it wasnt ready and the back seat was out. i was thinking wtf?!? he told me he had the seats out for the remote boot switch. Plus the car used about 5 litres of petrol from 6am to 430pm which i cant quite understand even tho i had the turbo timer hooked up as well.
Cut a long story short the alarm bells are ringing so i must ask is there any factory parts of value kept underneath the rear seats he could have pinched?

BULL$HIT!!!
Nothing done there in a TT worth keeping as far as I'm aware, but all he had to do to hook up the remote boot release was tap into the back of the switch panel that lives under the dash. Who is this person/company? Name and shame time!!! I've put a few alarms in soarers and while I don't proclaim to be a professional, over 10 hours and something is not right.

When I have my alarm Installed shortly, Im going to watch the installer like a hawk, regardless of what they say or do. Ill even remove panels my self to assist the installer.
Theres no way Im letting some wanker damage my interior or do a dodgy job!

Advice: Remove the drivers side under dash panels yourself! As well as the instrument cluster. Fortunately, my installer was smart and not too proud to ask if I knew where he could speak to someone about how to remove the panels, so I showed him Reepa.com.
Very satisfactory job, he asked if I was happy to place an ultra blue LED on the actual instrument panel before drilling into it. Whole job took a full day, including a return to installer to fix constant beeping when opening/locking. Was 750 installed for a remote start, window closer, immobiliser and remote central connection. Pity its in Darwin!

install alarm by professional people will normally spend about 2hours
Not in a soarer mate, there is no way that a fully featured alarm can be done in that time. It would take nearly that long just to remove/replace the trim and lay the wiring, if it is done neatly and correctly.

I did my alarm not too long ago. Took 4 hours and it was all black wiring which takes quite a bit longer.
If anybody wants a good alarm installer in Sydney I have a guy. Knows his Soarers pretty well and he can also do mobile installations.
Top bloke. He has been doing it now for over 15 years.
I can also get good deals with Rhino. My alarm installed cost 370 bucks. The installer also does show car audio systems. And he does it cheap too. So if anybody needs alarm or audio done just tell me and I can give him a call and get you a good deal.
