Why would you need to know what gear you are in? It's an automatic...
Try pulling off the shifter panel and see if the plug is in? I probably shouldn't have posted I don't really have anything useful to say.

Is it not much safer to be moving your eyes to glance at the dash than moving your head to look down at the console? Further, the message on the dash is more quickly comprehensible, day or night.

Hmmm, maybe that's a pov pack thing (is that what you have?)? I have light up numbers on the stick, but I have the scrolly dash so my gear isn't displayed there. Like Kim said, it may be unplugged, or the globe may have blown too. Think its time to pull it apart and have a bit of a looksy!

If you need a hand, I'll be happy to do it for you when we meet at Peter's in january.

Ben, your gear should still be displayed on the 'scrolly dash' (lol), just over on the left side.

Joel, yes, your gear indicator should illuminate. Time to start problem solving. Pulling it all to pieces is easy (plenty of tutorials around here to follow if you need).
