Well, Today I hoped into my soarer, it was a hot day and I pushed the drivers auto window button and suddenly the entire window falls down right to the bottom of the door in a instant!
The controls were useless all I got was a whirring motor and no movement of the window.
I was planing to take my drivers door trim off today to fix some of the cracks and to clean it so this easily gave me a chance to work out why my window had dropped...
I removed the regulator gear once I got the door trim off and found that the brace that holds with window with two screws was connected to a white plastic thing that goes up and down the cable shaft as shown in this picture:
After finding this part had broken in various places it was clear due to age and heat it had cracked and warped to eventually let go of the metal tabby thing connect to the regulator cable which guides with window up and down... It looks like this
So obviously due to the weight of the window the metal tab has slowly squeazed through the cracking guide holder.. Heres the damage
So now my window Is unusable and falls down - its held up with a screw driver right now which works fine, Does any one have the part number for this damaged part? Ill have to try get it of a ruined soarer or Toyota...
