I used VHT Vinyl Satin Black on the centre console surround (the darker grey colour with volume control etc on) Works really well, and looks good, but then i have the tan interior now so i really like the contrast of colours.

I used VHT on my dashboard and it works well. Works better on vinyl then it does on the centre console surround. Good luck finding enough cans. Their warehouse burnt down so stocks are limited.

Hi guys, Repco had heaps.. They didn't have any of the primer or prep stuff though.. I just rubbed it down for ages with wax and grease remover and a microfibre cloth..
So far so good.. No runs, looks uniform..
Thanks for the pics Alan, I'll post some up in 3 days or so

So Alan, you converted all of your original dash (except the top bit) from your original grey to the beige? If so, how the heck do I do this then? What's involved? This might be the better alternative to trying to buy a second hand set of beige interior bits.

Will, have only just put it on, so I can really comment on heat, but it's a pretty tight squeeze to get the console in, and there were no scratches. I tested it with my fingernail in a hidden spot before i put it in and couldn't scratch it..
I'm not sure if I would be confident enough to use it on my top dash though..

did you just cover it over the standard leatheresque finish or did you remove that first and then use that to make a suede template and put the suede in the place of the 'leather' when you do the doors, if you do indeed pull the existing leather off, can you please take a photo of what they use underneath it to make it all soft and plush like, i have an idea for my celica i am doing up at the moment. ps. it looks tops, fantastic work

Thanks Damien, I just covered straight over the top of the vinyl. There is quite a bit of clearance in between each panel.
As for the doors i'm guessing, but i think it would be a very thin sheet of foam. Like sleeping bag stuffing, and then cover over it. Spotlight might have it.
