I was looking at my roof lining the other day & wondered how I would clean it. It is especially dirty where the sunroof is, black marks etc.

I was worried that a foam type cleaner might seep through and stain it or if there's cardboard behind the lining it could make it all soggy.

So does anyone know of any products that could be good to clean it safely with? I thought about steam cleaning it but that would be expensive.

I recently used the New Preen for Carpets stain and spot remover and it works a treat and I did it on the beige colour roof lining.

Just make sure you test an area first but otherwise it’s a fantastic product.

Hope this helps

megiuars fabric cleaner work very well, I used it when I first got my car and it took 99% of the stains out of the carpet and off the trim.

John - what colour trim do you have? If it works that good I might try and use it and see if I can spruce up my spruce!!

Yeah my trim is looking a little "dirty" and not as shiny as I have seen it. Any pics at all John?

these are a few pics I took, the car wasn't that dirty though so it was a bit hard, anyways just give the stain a couple of sprays give it a minute or too, then a rub down and almost all stains come out straight off, I haven't found one stain yet that lasts more than 2 goes. The stains on the roof lining I had came out very easily as the weave is quite loose on the material and the spray really seems to foam up on that material as well. So i would recommend Megiuars cloth and trim cleaner, its not overly expensive anyway so you ain't got much to lose!

The only problem I have with both the Meguiars cloth and trim cleaner and the carpet cleaner is stopping the missus from stealing it and using round the house(kids!)
