Did you also check out the unrealistic asking price?? And I'm not seeing where the fibreglass door part comes into play. Trims look standard to me, unless there redone to look factory? Very nice result with the gauges though, looks nice and 'factory', same with the rest of the interior.

I personally think its a bit of an overkill such as the shifter and the handbrake being the same color as the rest...just my two cents...other than that i think the gauges (what you were initially referring to) looks rather appealing after all

oh the rest of the interior, I only meant the gauaes as interesting. Should have out that in the title! As for teh asking price, who cares, none of us are buying it!

Personally I'm not sold on the idea. The gauges appear to face straight out. Great if your sitting in the middle of the back seat! But I guess that way everyone can have a look.

Daniel, somewhere out of sight =P Personally i really hate the "ricer" aftermarket look in Soarers. They are a car of luxury that have good chunks of performance. Would you stick gauges all over the dash of a M5?

What's the point of having gauges if you're not going to look at them? |

Daniel, maybe just leave boost somewhere subtle but visible but put the others (I assume temperature related) in the glovebox where you can take the time to have a glance. Depend on how big they are maybe two or three where the stereo goes if you have an aftermarket stereo? Just don't put one in the cup holder haha.

I agree with Vinh, what's the point of installing gauges if you can't see them at a quick glance. The whole point is to be able to monitor what's going on, not just so you can put it on your mods list. Personal choice.

So maybe place them in the glovebox fascia , i have three gauges . Air/fuel , oil press and water temp .Aswell as turbo timer with boost gauge and a Greddy Profec II EBC . Have aftermarket headunit but want EBC and Turbo timer there . Oh and a shift light which i am trying to place behind the old volume control from the stock head unit.

Could we see a pic of that please Sam?? Interesting idea. Personally, I agree with Blaine and Vinh - the whole point of having guages is to be alert to anything (oil tem/pressure, water temp, A/F ratios) that may be changing from normal - cos as soon as anything does, thats when it's time to shut the engine off and investigate WHY. There are subtle and less subtle ways of going about a guage installation though. Such as using smaller guages for a start. If that retrim hadnt been done in such a "garish" cream colour, then that guage install wouldnt look too bad. Can anyone do a quick Photoshop into the standard soarer Teal or Chocolate?? |
