The glove compartment is really easy to remove. Open the door, you will see two square recesses top left and top right. Prise the covers off with a sharp bladed screwdriver. You will find a self tapper under each, remove them. Then pull off the bottom cover in the foot well, held in place by two black plastic plugs (this is a step in removing the cabin air filters). You will then see two more self tapping screws, remove them. Now, the glove compartment will come away, but it's stubborn. Use a plastic ruler or similar to prise the top away where it meets the wood surround (I assume you have that!) it is only held in place by clips, but the wood surround also overlaps the unit slightly, hence the prising. When you get it off, there are two wire connectors, one for the door opening switch and the other for the light operated by that switch. They are tricky to separate, use a tiny screwdriver to press in the lock tabs, I hate those things.
