You wouldn't have (just) the window/mirror switch surrounds, would you, Gregg? I dislike it all over the middle bit but it looks neat on the switches (which is where most Japanese cars put it, too).

Hi Mike,
Contact me (admin@importscene.com.au) for an offer on just the switches. I've got another request for just the shifter surround section only so I can split up an existing kit to satisfy all.

Sorry guys, new to the Soarer game, and im quite keen on getting a new dash kit put in. But how do I work out which dash kit will fit? Its a non TV, and currently has a cd head unit installed.

The problem with matching the door and dash trim is that it's real wood (I've heard Birdseye Maple but that could be wrong).
It's laminated, it seemed to me with two layers of aluminium (for rigidity) and another type of wood, presumably for thickness/bulk, in the middle of the 5 layers. There's yet another type of wood used to shape the backs and mount the bolts.
So a product which gets this type of finish (without being to garish and shiny) by matching the grain of real wood, is doing well.

I heard of someone trying to sand theirs, but apparently its only a very thin veneer. I think you could very carefully sand the lacquer off with fine sand paper. I am going to look at mine soon and see if I can apply a stain to better match the aftermarket console trims. Then 47 coats of varnish to match the shine.

I had mine dipped at www.aquadip.com.au , will post photos later. Today applied the stick on trim kit. Looks alright. Can be more accurate though. Not 100% exact fit.

Scott.. What paint did you use? I like the way yours looks. Might just give my soarer a similar appearance. Hopefully go well with my new steering wheel.
When you said u "scotched it", did you leave the center panel in the car and just spray it there?

I just bought a set of primed trim panels that i am going to paint, not sure of the colour yet, was thinking silver. Any suggestions to go with my black interior? Also what type of paint should i use? 2-pac, spray paint, Tamiya model spray paints, automotive spray paints? My mate has an air compressor and spray gun that i could use if that is any help.

one more thing when you get the piece out around the shifter off, the plastic strip that has p ,r,n,d,1,2, on it is a phuker to get off, it clicks in and has two melted tabs holding it on,so you have to snap them off to get it off then melt it back on unless you want to mask it up,which looks if not done correctly.have fun
