I'm looking for a place in Victoria that can fix the broken trim in my car (drivers door etc) and retrim the lot to match the original colour as close as possible
Anyone have any suggestions and vague prices etc?

because he own a panel shop and lots of performance cars went there to do respray or body repair and some of them did retrim, and only a few people to the car to nsw to do retrim, because it's cheaper and more competitive, therefore better quality

I need a retrim too but apparently it is better to have someone Vacuum seal the vinyl (don't know the right term). Was told this this morning when I visited a retrimmer. There is no one in WA that does this method so I am forced to get my trim plastic welded and shipped over east.

that is one place I was recommended, anyone know of or heard anything of these people?

Also I will be organising a group buy for door pockets soon both mine are now totally rooted. *sigh*

Thanks for that Daniel, really appreciate it.

I just emailed them and hopefully they should get back to me sometime soon, well Im hoping so anyway.

By the way, have you heard anything on this company? Like the service and after service and turn around time???

Any feedback is a bonus

Just do a search and you should find it

This is what I mean by completely rooted.
Too costly to repair. Would be required to be welded then recovered and even then they wouldn't be that great. I am in the process of figuring out if late model trim will fit my early model car.

Then I can just buy stock 94+ black door pockets.

Damn thats full on.

If you do happen to get a new trim, let me know because I wouldnt mind having a look at the old trim to see if I can fix it and retrim it in a way that is effective and cost efficient.

Think there is too many parts broken on the trim for it to be fixed cheaply, unless of course you know how to do it yourself.

I will be getting new trim there is no doubt about that. Just gotta wait for it and will let you know when I get though. Just waiting to find out if later model section will fit early model cars. Saves hassles of painting new trim etc.

Wow...that,s exactly like mine, then that means mine is rooted too lol

As for Gary Blackman Trimming, this is the response that I got

"Ali, to recover 2 front seats in full in leather is $1700 + gst. This is providing cushions, frame & webbing ok as car now over 15years old. Jacqui "

Am I the only one that thinks this is a little too expensive???

Personally I think I will be much much better off, purchasing second hand seats which are near new condition

What do you think guys??? Is it worth it?

Oh yer Ali,

How bad is yours front seats?

If they are not too bad, you can try and do the "full Leatherique treatment " your self.

No worries Ali.

If you are looking for someone to repair the door trims.

Contact:
John Lowes at Restore-It
9870 5992 / 0411 705 992

I had both of my door trims repaired about 2.5 years ago and still good.

That was done at the workshop day for Soarers back in 2004.

My door trims was pretty similar to Kim.

Here are some photos of my repaired door trims.

ok guys i have this contact from about 5 years ago, he had re-upholstered a mates lancer (front seats, back seats, door trims) in material, it was fabulously done, even had his number plate stitched in, it was really nice. anyway i called this guy about 6 months ago for a quote to do the front and back seats in leather on my soarer, he quoted me $1800.

he worked for a upholstering place and also had his own business on the side. From what i remember he worked for a place that did expensive cars like mercs and jags.

when i called him 6 months ago he said he had done plenty of soarer's. i cant vouch for his work in leather, but here is his number and give him a call, 5 years ago when i saw him he had pictures of some of his work, no hurting in calling

I can tell you that $1800 for the front and rear seats in Leather is a GOOD price in my opinon.

So long as the workmanship is up there, I doubt you would get a better price than that Matt.

If I were to do it, I dont think I would do it for less than 2k.

Thanks once again Daniel. Seats are hopefully good, but I dont think door trims are in repairable condition :-)

I think I may need to get 2nd hand trims and then reinforce the shyt out of it before installing it lol
