yeh im pretty sure they are.
BUT,
They need to have a certain thickness of padding around the bars, and if they take up the back seats then your car must be changed to a TWO seater on the mod plate. and speakin of mod plates, the whole thing should be... mod plated.

No, but some friends and I once rolled a Datson bush-bomb out of a bog. It came off the side of a rally track and got stuck in the mud. We couldn't push it or pull it out so we rolled it sideways onto it's roof then quickly onto it wheels....does that count?

Welds are OK, as long as they are done by the manufacturer. They are saying if a kit cage is supplied, the kit can't require welding. This is because the manufacturer has to be CAMS certified, but the installer does not. Don't want any old tom, dick or me welding it.
Plus, those are the CAMS requirements. The street regulations are different.

If I was driving in manner that warranted a roll cage, I know which specs I'd prefer. Might also help if your pulled over by a poorly educated copper on a canary spree.
ahh the soarer and the roll cage convo many people have fought over this topic for quite some time now! im getting a 6 point cage installed in my car within the next few months (for drifting purposes),ill be sure to post up sum pics when it gets out of the panel shop!

haha its for stiffening the boat like chassis of the soarer! stop that enemy of all drifters=chassis flex! and big cars with good suspension need it otherwise your wasting your time it will never handle unless the car is stiff enough to respond to the steering and throttle inputs, ive driven cars with and without cages and all i will say is 'it makes f****** big difference'

I'm pretty sure 6 point cages aren't street legal, i have one sitting in my shed, looked sexy as in the car, but a bit unpractical for every day driving. 4 point cages though, i think they are legal...
