When a street is heavily lit the eyes have adjusted.
Further, advertising lights are not aimed beams of light that raise and lower in your field of vision as you drive towards it.
I live in a more rural area, streets are lit, but not a lot of traffic, so I guess I (and my peers) feel these bright lights are just downright bloody dangerous.
My Honda S2000 lights were bright, but with an excellent cut off.
Most of my cars have had Cibie Oscer or better, anything up to 6 spotties on the front.
Never needed more than parkers and 2 headlamps to be noticed by any other driver.
I have been riding motor bikes since 1968 and am well aware of how important visibility is.
