Morgan.. i will have to show you a video of Juzza working on his car.. well not so much working.. but putting the back seat back in.... funniest thing I have ever seen!! hahahaha
The next thing to go in mine is the woodgrain trim, I really can't stand the look of it. It reminds me of my first car 1974 XB GS Falcon
Will probably just get it painted black or red, a basic colour to contrast with the blue there now.
Just a quick question for those who have removed their woodgrain, is there enough space behind the trim to install my Microtech DASH unit? It has a serial cable on the back and the whole depth of unit and cabling is approx 6 cm.
OK I've taken the trim off. One word of caution... careful when removing the dash wood trim panel! The vent register (where the key lock is) is clipped on to this (which I didn't know from reading the how to's) and I managed to break the clip for the assembly. It doesn't look major but it's something to look out for.
Did yet another panel last weekend and this time I applied some advice and loosened the lock assembly completely. Came out much easier. How not to snap the plastic clip next to the dash binnacle is something to master. Maybe next time. Repair splits with Loctite 406 - fill remaining gap with plastic welding gook and hit with heat gun. Virtually unnoticeable - except to the trained eye. For just under $200 for centre vents - surrounds come with vents - it's worth a go. If ya stuff it up - buy some newies.
