it was a little too red. So anyway i removed all the timber this weekend and sanded the clear down, then i used some wattle "black" timber stain to darken the timber pieces. After this i gave it a nice thick clear coat with a little bit of metallic to make it sparkle!!
here are the results, and a couple of comparison pics with the factory wood trim colour!
also have this new little toy! hks EVC version 6 very kool little boost controller!

Why not just paint it? Or get some of the "pov pack" trims, why waste perfectly good birdseye maple (incidentally, not cheap, although there's only a thin layer on the trims).

because i want a darker stain of timber and how else are you going to do that with the pov pack plastic trims??
True, and I see what you've done now- your pic looks like the wood has been sanded down to the backing (easily done) and then painted over, but that is light reflections. I agree, it does look good (when I look at your pics properly)!
It looks good, I like it! I did something similar with mine (except didn't change the colour). Polishing them really freshens them up. Gets rid of all that milky old look on the clear coat, and looks brand new.
