Alan, I started doing mine over the weekend. Didn't realise how much fkn hard work involved in getting these covers to fit when using the white strings!
Only managed to do the back seats on the Saturday afternoon. Looks pretty neat so far though...
P.S. Thank you Lawrence for the instructions. They really did help me out.

Man what a mission it was to install them. I'm glad no small children were around in my building cause there was a lot of swearing involved. I could not find a big enough needle so I sewed mine on a different way that worked somewhat effectively I think it only took about 9 hours all up.

Lads, now that you have em on may be the wrong time for me to share how I'm doing mine.......but for those that haven't done em yet. There is only ONE WAY. Get a small crochet hook......(go ask you mum what it is if you dont know) Camera went over the side on a harbour cruise this week so sorry no pics of a crochet hook, sorry. It is about 2.5mm dia about 100mm long, has a rounded hook on one end & a flattened section in the middle (flat section is perfect for grabbing with pliers) The other end is blunt, go get your grinder out & sharpen the blunt end to a sharp point...I didn't have any metal blades so I just sharpened it by rubbing on concrete... it only took a minute the hook material is very soft. Wont bother describing how to use it its pretty obvious. Took me under an hr to do the entire back seat once it was out. Passenger just over an hr once it was out.

Thats what I used as well. Picked them up from spotlight. Works awesome.
Grab them with pliers on the other end. I didnt even sharpen mine, just used a flat screwdriver to push it through and hold it down, while I grabbed it on the other side. Plus if you dont sharpen it, you can poke around trying to find it without getting stabbed.

Having a majorly hard time getting the lid of the center console. Have removed the 10 small screws + the 3 big screws. Its lifting at the back but the front is held firm.

I want to get my front seats out but they wont budge.
Whats the trick? Do I have to remove the seat rails as well, or does the seat come off?
I fitted my centre console cover without removing the lid, slipped it over the top, then used a flat screwdriver to push the material in the sides, fits perfect and hasn't budged in over 2 months now.

Christian can you find out how much your guy can do just two front seats for? I only need the front. Its a two tone interior - light grey and charcoal grey - with the crinkle effect. I also wanted the L logos in the head rests if possible.

Hey Christian.. I just unscrewed the five bolts underneath the plastic covers and made sure the wiring or anything underneath were taken out and then tadaa yanked them out. I took out the centre console properly and even sewed it underneath and tried reinstalling it back as it was but I have given up.

Agree with Julia, getting the seats out is easy. Like she says pop the plastic covers off where the seat rails mount to the floor. Under the covers are the bolts. Undo all 5. Unclip plastic connector for power heater etc (assuming you have these) which is under the seat toward the front in the middle & lift the seat out. You don't have to remove seat from rails or anything like that.
I'm seeing Niall tomorrow, hope he can show me the center console lid removal process. Will post dets when I have em.
Keen to dye my carpet as well. Heard many recommendations on what is best to use. What have you used Julia?

Hey Carl,
I just used black VHT Carpet/Vinyl Dye - worked well. I just took the seats out and masked up the vinyl bits near the carpet and sprayed it all. Took about an hour and a half and dried really quickly. But as it says on the can use a stiff brush and you will need about 5 cans all up to do a decent. I used 4 and just made it but I would use 5 for a proper job. Next I will try dying some vinyl bits when I get some courage. Hope all goes well and it is all worth it in the end! Enjoy!

Umm I was originally planning to replace my carpet with via an after market co that do them for our cars. I saw it somewhere on this site. Was only $160 delivered from memory which I thought was pretty cheap. Getting the seats out is childs play but the console is an big job from what I hear. Maybe I will dye instead after all!

Carl, I bought charcoal grey carpets from E-Bay, $205 delivered. Took an afternoon to fit, taking the console out is not hard.
The lid of the console - I recall there were lots of small screws to undo and three larger ones. Then it comes out - you must have just missed a few......
I'd have a look but I'm on my way out. If you don't get sorted, PM me and I'll take a few photos etc.

Hey carl, I was planning on doing the same as you and getting the aftermarket carpet from the internet. But when I saw a few photos of them installed I chose to just dye the carpet instead. That's just me though, the aftermarket ones come in two pieces and sometimes it looks rather funny when you can see the join through the middle. But each to their own view and good luck with whatever you choose.
