well i was driving last night when all of a sudden when i put my window down it was getting stuck. for a second i thought it wouldnt move but eventually it budged. i am hearing a wierd grinding noise.
anyway today i pulled off my door trim and took a look. the problem persist, but when i kept on moving the window up and down, it started moving freely without getting stuck.
however there is still a slight grinding noise, not as bad as before now that the window is moving freely.
also when i took a close look at the white plastic bracket which moves along the rail...i found some small cracks. put some super glue there, dont know if that will do anything though.
any ideas whats going on. by the way how do you remove the whole regulator and rail off the window?

I sympathise with your window problem. I have a dud window motor which only raises the window on occassion.(soon to be replaced) You'll find a helpful tutorial regards replacing regulator on the "how to" page. good luck with it.

Hey Kanchana,
I'm not sure if this problem is common or not but there doesn't seem to be many people who knows what the problem is. I also have this problem!!!!
I just got another regulator but the problem was still there. When I'd turn the window down from the fully close position, the window would go down unevenly like it was stuck on the side closest to the mirrors. I'm pist off as I can't see whats putting pressure on that side. Once I found out.. I'll let you know.

Guys i took the old window tint off my windows and there was still some glue on the windows which were getting stuck on door window rubber seals. make sure its not that. You can clean the window and seals with a degreaser it will remove most sticky stuff.

Well I found out what the problem was with my window in the weekends. The bracket holding the longest window rail was loose. Not only that, the bearing/wheel is attached to the window has detached itself from the window hence causing it to not slide down in unison with the other side. Here is a picture of that part. The rubbery wheel goes in the rails. The other end (which is attached to the window) is a thread (which is stripped) with a nut, but the nut is lost.
I've fixated the bracket by drilling holes and putting bolt and nut. While the bracket was out, I also cleaned inside the rails and put in some lanolin grease.
I've gone to auto spares shops like Supercheap, autobahn and repco but they didn't have this window screw/bearing wheel. I'm going to get one off a wrecker this week and it should be fixed!!
