Hey Chaps,

For some reason I just love to make the soarers Dash a nice rich Red at night. So like my old soarer I spent a bit of time making the entire center console have red lights instead of the boring dull green as per standard, Changed the key barrel light colour too....

Also fitted a new Fantastic sounding head deck along with my new speakers!

I also had the digital dash out, removed that hell-ishly stupid reversing beeper and gave the internal glass and filters with in the dash a good clean as well as the plastic screen, results were superb!!! Take a look at the pictures. :-)

Nice work! All LED? Are you going to do the instrument cluster as well?

I think I pushed the Fuel button a moment before and took the photo while it showed that. Since this is a 1996 3.0GT, it doesnt have the scroll Dash, totally different to the earlier models.

Rather than going to LED's, I got new bulbs 12v... and dipped them into red clear acrylic paint, Tamiya stuff. Works a treat and so easy! Need to do LEDs for the door switches however.

Can you get a V8 with that gear selection display? I drove a Limited with that years ago... or would that dash have been taken out of a 3.0 with less km's when someone was doing the dodgy during the import stage?

As far as I know you can't, especially on the Limiteds (may well be wrong though) and it's more likely they've replaced the dash due to a fault like blinky dash than something dodgy.

I'd be more likely to say dodgy, because the dash was blinky. Very very annoying, especially when it's 3:00am, you're tired, you've never driven the car before and the owner of the car is drunk!

It's more likely that pigs fly actually ;D

The different dash clusters aren't interchangeable afaik.

There is a gear selector on the scrolling dash however it only tells you which one is currently active rather than whats around it =P

Scroll dash is better anyway, it also tells you the exact volume of fuel currently on board and the outside temp if its hooked up?

Yeah the 10 and 15 on the fuel gauge is when you press the little fuel button on the cluster. I have the same dash in my 92 TT. No scroll dash for me.

The ignition barrel has a single mini wedge bulb light. You can buy them from autobarn in blue, red, green & white.

I just took the bulb out from the barrel, and painted it read like all the others.

Came up quite nice.

If I had a EMV car I would know definitely.

But Im sure its the same setup as the a/c display in my car that uses a few bulbs to back light the buttons. :-)
