I have a velour spruce soarer that I eventually want to transform to leathered seats.

So my question is;
What would you prefer, the new pleather seat covers like those in the previous group buys (
http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/284/167709.html?1184840005) OR replacing with actual stock soarer spruce leather seats?

Assuming that the pleather may not fit perfect compared to stock but stock will never be in perfect condition
Also the pleather can be customised and the stock leather will crack sooner.
Any comments or pictures are much appreciated, especially from those with either.

Thanks

Stock leather seats and then just get the leather reconditioned at a trim shop.

Pleather seats look cheap, ricey and no matter what anyone says - they look exactly what they are - cheap plasticky covers.

You could also look at getting your old seats re-trimmed at a proper trim shop in leather.

I'd recommend Gary Blackman in Richmond

as a guy who has the pleather covers. I'd say that they do look good and they do trick people. Issue is that the quality of the covers vs the quality of a proper retrim is noticable.

Then again you pay for what you get. I'm happy with mine and i don't want to pay for a proper retrim because i can't justify it.

heres a photo of mine

They don't match the rest of the interior though!

Fair play to you if your original seats were rooted - would be a cheap way to get them reasonable

Every set I've seen you can tell the first second you look at them that they are just plasic covers.

Shame your in WA. I have a very cheap motor trimmer here on the goldcoast. I have mine done in good quality leather. Dont waste your time on "pleather" or seat covers. Do it properly. Also you cant just get the veluer seats re-covered. No need to start with leather seats to begin with.

Did you mean you can get velour seats retrimmed in leather?

Its hprses fopr courses Josh. The pleather covers are great if you tend to be in and out of your soarer all the time, lugging stuff around or drive the car to work and your job is sweaty/dirty etc....you just wouldnt want to wreck a good leather retrim by doing this.

However, for my soarer, which is weekend only, Id go for a full leather retrim, If I felt it was needed.

$600 for the pleather, or a couple of thousand for the leather full works trim:-)
