Sorry Joe you are right. Now that I've checked again and realised that they are actually yours, (same folder on my computer.) Mine turned out a lot darker and shinier, I will post up pics, Just got to sort out the folders.

It looks so much different in natural light, camera Drew, The hood was custom made using a fibreglass vent and moulded into existing hood. |

Cihan, I just did mine recently on my own. Yes, plan for that many cans to do a GOOD job. I used my stuff sparingly as my supplier had to source the stuff from 3 different places. Did 2 coats on each item, which worked out well, but would have been happier if I could do 3. Heres the link to my interior change from spruce to black/red: http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/284/244362.html?1210499329

It's good having a black interior until it wears off in most places, which it will do, so unless you wanna regularly maintain your painted parts i.e. having to take them all out, get all the old paint off, and clean them all again on a monthly basis, it's really not worth it. I did my whole interior with VHT (except a few plastic bits in 2pak - I work at a smash repair/spray painting shop) and everything needs redoing (except the 2pak-ed bits), and I spent days and days preparing and cleaning all the parts in the hope the paint would stay on...but it doesn't. You're gonna scuff and wear paint off all over. As for using VHT on carpet etc...it doesn't work, I believe VHT is designed to bond to non-synthetics e.g. wool carpet. Soarer carpets and the carpet trims and mats are all synthetic. You're wasting your time. Save up and get a pro to do it, or **try** to get your hands on a wrecked Soarer with black interior (good luck!)...Or live with the colour you have. My car was out of action for a month (we worked on painting the interior after work and on weekends) and after all that, it all needs redoing. We spent alot of time making sure everything was clean and prepped properly too.

How long of a period was this before it started to wear/fade naturally from the sun? Most of the Vinyl parts are things you never touch anyway. Besides the door handle and plastic strip along the bottom of the door, I don't see why it would fade/scratch. I do agree on the carpets though, but floor mats fixed that, it's not like you walk everywhere in your car.

Kelly, I have to disagree with you. I have done my interior with VHT and it's going strong after a year. The only marks are from my girlfriend and her inability to bring her purse inside the car without scratching the little studs or the zipper along the door panel. As well, I have also done my carpet with VHT and it looks great. However, I must admit that it is very difficult to get the dye right into the base of the fibres, so when the carpet is bent to the side you can see some grey occasionally. Just needs a better job done on it. My only other marks are on the steering wheel, and they only appeared after some driving in -40 weather, which you lucky folk don't have to contend with.

My hasn't faded from the sun, it's just wear and tear...like the plastic that covers the join of the carpet to the inner sill, bits and pieces on my seats. Also, for plastic bits on the base of my seat and bits that we didn't paint in 2pak we sprayed with plastic primer first and some have still worn off. I'm not saying EVERYTHING has totally worn, but there is a fair bit and I'm not sure why. My vinyl on my doors is pretty much fine, but there are some places which have dulled a bit but yeah. I don't know...

I see what you mean Kelly. Being a perfectionist, I too would get a bit frustrated at those kind of things happening. With that being said though - your interior does look quite nice. I miss my full black interior these days Also, show us some more pictures of that Supra in the background! Looks very nice.

| I just Sprayed mine over the weekend still have got a quite a few more peices to do but It is definitely a big improvement over the original interior. Just keep a spare can to do touch ups every now and then. (dash was not as bad as a lot of people have made out had it out in about 45mins, and reinstalling took about the same. Best part is It is not squeeking anymore.)

nice work people ! All these pics are encouraging me even more to do this when i get home.. im going the Two Tone Tan look though not just plain black. Did all you guys use Gloss or Satin black? I dont think ill remove the dash though,,, reeks of effort. Ive also got a woodgrain centre console surround now so hopefully that will go well with my other woodgrain after i freshen it up with some sanding and a polish.

I think it is worth the effort to remove the dash, It is not as bad as it may seem. I used gloss black, I think it gives a more original look. I had some parts done in Satin Charcoal and it did not look that good.

I didn't remove the dash on my car. Only downside is that it is tough to get the windshield vents. On an FSG car with spruce interior, you don't notice that they are not as dark. On a tan interior, you don't have that option. In short - pull your dash.

I did the top half of my interior (e.g. dash, vinyl window surrounds etc in gloss, and the bottom half is all satin (e.g. door trims, glove box etc) but the satin looks very dry on the doors, I'm thinking when I go to redo them, I'll use gloss all over. I wanted the 2 tone but yeah...I don't want the doors looking all dry etc

It's really important that you do all the prep work, eg: cleaning with prepsol/ degreaser etc.. and then you must use a leather wash which has the pigmented dye in it, get this from BIRDSALL LEATHER, This is why mine has NO wear on any of the leather or vinyl. Also i have found that the VHT spray is no where near as good as the MOTORSPRAY gloss black, as stated earlier about 40 hours work, 500 bucks to do 2 complete cars and the transformation is amazing. It's been about 8 months now and it still looks like new genuine black leather. Having spent countless amounts of money on all 4 of my Soarers and the Celsior, the black leather is the best modification I've done
