Hey guys,
I removed my driver's footwell globe and it seems like it's a mini wedge globe. My question is where can I find a LED replacement for this? I'm planning to change it to a bright white LED globe for the footwell.
I tried finding but i couldn't find anything regarding this.

the promised images.
i have also changed the door lights to leds. the overhead lighting has not yet been changed, hence the yellow look to it.
one pic with the cabin light off. the pics are all a little crappy, i had to use a longer exposure time, in order not to use the flash. but you get the idea anyway.

ok.
i'm home now. took some more pictures (from underneath this time) so you can see what type of led lighting i used)
the lights are designed to be used as an outline / position marker on trucks, they are multi volt and run on 10 - 30 volts. i had a pair laying about from a previous vehicle that i never got round to fitting.
i simply made up a "Y" harness with light gauge figure 8 wire, and taped into the wire that normally runs the foot well light. took about an hour to do. very easy.
hope this is helpful.
i might change the leds to cold cathode tubes at a later date, they would produce a more even light than the leds.

Jason, can you explain this in a bit more detail Or a diagram for my slow a$$. Thank you
I have wanted to do this fpr so long, good thread.
Otherwise does anyone where we can get that globe that goes in the stock light? Thanks

yeah, it's really easy.
just take about 3 meters (you won't use this much) of figure eight light gauge speaker wire. speaker wire is plenty to run leds. cut the loom where it enters the stock foot well light. join two lengths of the speaker wire to the original loom, run one to each new led.
note, leds are polarised (they won't work if you wire them in reverse) so if you new lights don't work, just reverse the wires. also, as i posted earlier, this item number 190240315681 on ebay is the led equivalent for the stock foot well globe. though i personally wouldn't bother.
Joshua, if you weren't so far away, i would offer to do it for you, it's that easy.

Jason thanks for the insight for me. See how I go with it when I get a chance. Doesnt sound too hard even for a klutz like myself. I especially like your passenger side light. The stock foot well light is very dim. Looking forward to your thread.
Chris you sure have missed out on much lighting, must just be the globe. Also there is a light in the glovebox and one near the cigarette light for you to check.

I think the retrofit to the passenger side foot well is a good idea but I don't think you really need it on the driver's side. Just replace the stock bulb with a T5 wedge in any colour you want. They are available on ebay, 10 for $6. The T5 wedge also replaces the cigarette lighter globe as well.
The door globes are T10 wedge also available on ebay very cheaply.

They are neo wedge led's. I'm pretty sure they are t5s but they could be t3s. They are only $1.80 for two on ebay. These also fit into the tems switch. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2pcs-T3-T4-T5-Neo-Wedge-Spark-Blue-Dash-LED-Bulbs_W0QQitemZ190243688464QQihZ0 09QQcategoryZ33711QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem so try both. You will need four in total, two for vol and two for temp controls. It is easily the simplest job I've done and probably the best looking too. Also to Nick with regards to the a/c lighting I just followed the tute that is available here. http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/9739/67992.html?1147299210 Although if I were to do it again, which I will because this doesn't give a completely even spread of light I'd try using a t10 neo wedge led. The manufacturers of some of them claim that they give a 160 degree spread of light. Another option would be a neon tube available from jaycar which I have installed in my dash. An even simpler idea would be to remove the doms of the standard globes and replace the white diffuser with a thin sheet of coloured plastic. This will ensure even light distribution but it's anyones guess on how bright it would be. I will be trying some of these ideas but at the moment I'm busy trying to work out how to dye my leather seat covers which have just arrived in the mail. None of the mods I have done so far are my ideas. They are all available on previous posts and tutes from here so I am not trying to take any credit for them.
